English & Media @ Wirral Grammar School for Boys

Media

Media is an integral part of the KS3 English framework and is also studied at GCSE. The mass media play a significant role in shaping the way we see ourselves and the world around us. Studying the media provides an understanding of how television, films, the press and the internet influence society.

NEWS PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Mediaedu.co.uk will be running an Online Photography Competition for students in Years 10-13 (14-18 year olds). The competition will be judged by a senior examiner. The winners will have their artefacts exhibited on the front page of Mediaedu.co.uk and the local press will be informed. The two winning students will receive an iTunes voucher.
You are asked to take two photographs - one for a broadsheet newspaper and one for a tabloid newspaper for the same front page lead article. Each photograph will need to be anchored.
